Biography

Amelia is a doctoral student at the Department for the Study of Religion. She earned her BA in Honours Humanities with a Minor in Religious Studies in 2019 from Carleton University and completed her MA at the DSR under a SSHRC grant in 2021. Amelia is broadly interested in early biblical interpretation and the formation of scripture in early Judaism. Her current research examines the exile as a phenomenological category in Second Temple literature, paying particular attention to the apocryphal book of 1 Baruch.
