Professor Pieter J.J. Botha is a leading scholar of Early Christianity, Disability Studies, and Classics at UNISA and author of many articles and books, including Orality and Literacy in early Christianity (2012), Why Jesus could walk on the sea but could not read and write (2005) , Cognition, Orality-Literacy, and Approaches to First-Century Writings (2004), Submission and violence: Exploring gender relations in the first-century world (2000), and Mute Manuscripts (1990).
