Description
The “Kay-Nah-Chi-Wah-Nung Gathering: Museums, Universities, and Communities Working Together” will be held on October 1-2, 2022, at the Kay-Nah-Chi-Wah-Nung Historical Centre of Rainy River First Nations, Treaty 3 Territory.
The workshop’s main goals are to bring together Elders, Indigenous community researchers, local, regional, and provincial museum staff, and university researchers to experience the Manitou Mounds, share about their work, and build future partnerships.
The organizers are Pamela Klassen, Krista Barclay, Christina Pasqua, and two DSR alums, Teagan de Laronde and Kate Stoehr, as well as Art Hunter from Kay-Nah-Chi-Wah-Nung.
The Kay-Nah-Chi-Wah-Nung Gathering is part of a wider project facilitated by Pamela Klassen and Krista Barclay, called Treaty Conversations.
