Biography

Sarang Patel is a PhD student in the Department for the Study of Religion at the University of Toronto. His research interests lie at the intersection of anthropology and philosophy of religions, and his proposed dissertation is focused broadly around Hindu sermons, subjectivity formation, affect, social construction, and linguistic/nonlinguistic structure. He is also interested in cross-cultural philosophy and devoting fresh attention to philosophical ideas left at the margins. He completed an MA in Religion from the University of Chicago Divinity School in 2023, and a BA in Religion, Philosophy, and Comparative Literature from Rutgers University in 2021.
