Abstract
The main focus of this lecture is to shed light on the literary work of the Newar language from its inception until now (879 – 1941 onward) in brief. In ancient manuscripts, this language was named Nepalbhasa, so I will also refer to it as Nepalbhasa in my presentation. To shed light on the literary work of the Nepalbhasa language, I will firstly provide a brief introduction to the Newar people and their native language Nepalbhasa. In the second phase, I will briefly touch on the state of the Nepalbhasa language before creative writing began. Then I will focus my discussion on the literary work of the Nepalbhasa language that has taken place in different periods.
