Prof. Abrahim Khan (cross-appointed faculty to the Department) was awarded an honorary doctorate from Constatine the Philosopher University in Nitza (UKF), Slovakia.
Prof. Khan paid his first visit to UKF in 2007. He was invited by Prof. Roman Králik to present at the University’s first Kierkegaard conference. Growing from this initial connection, Profs. Khan and Králik eventually established the Central European Research Institute of Soren Kierkegaard affiliated with the Department of General and Applied Ethics at UKF.
Prof. Khan was awarded the honorary degree by UKF in recognition of his scientific, academic and pedagogical qualities; for his contribution to Kierkegaard studies; and his role in widening and deepening the role of Kierkegaard studies in the academic and cultural Central European milieu.
