JOB POSTING – SESSIONAL LECTURER

Course Number and Title: RLG469Y1Y Readings in Tibetan

Course description:  Reading selected Tibetan texts

Estimated course enrolment: 10

Estimated TA support:  N/A

 Schedule: Tuesday, Thursday 4:00-6:00 pm

Sessional Appointment dates:  September 1, 2015 –April 30, 2016

Salary: $14,500.44 per FCE for Sessional Lecturer I, 14,775.19 for Sessional Lecturer I Long Term, $15,416.26 for Sessional Lecturer II, $16,128.56 for Sessional Lecturer III

Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. preferred, but demonstrated ability in Tibetan language instruction will also be considered;
  • Knowledge of Tibetan required;
  • Prior teaching at a university level is an asset.

Duties: nclude presenting four hours of lectures a week; conducting tutorials; grading papers and exams; and other pedagogical and administrative tasks associated with an undergraduate course
