Dr. Ayesha Irani completed her PhD with Distinction in South Asia Studies at the University of Pennsylvania in December 2011 and is currently a visiting Assistant Professor at McGill University. Her research focuses on “frontier genres” of religious literature in South Asia. She has language skills in Sanskrit, Bangla, Hindi-Urdu, Avadhi, Marathi, Gujarati, Persian, Arabic, and French. In approach, her research combines cultural studies and ethnography, history, literary theory and textual criticism.
