Nickolas Roubekas received his PhD from the Aristotle University in Greece with a thesis on Euhemerus of Messene and his theory of religion. His main areas of research are the study of Graeco-Roman Religions and Christian Origins, Method and Theory in the Study of Religion, the Academic Study of Myth, Ancient and Modern Theories of Religion, and the disciplinary conjunction of Religious Studies and Classics. He is a member of the editorial board of the book series “Studies in Ancient Religion and Culture” published by Equinox Pub., U.K., and, since 2017, Managing Editor of the Journal of Cognitive Historiography. He is the author of An Ancient Theory of Religion: Euhemerism from Antiquity to the Present (Routledge, 2017) and editor of Theorizing ‘Religion’ in Antiquity (forthcoming 2018 by Equinox).
