Briggida Bell, PhD candidate in the Department for the Study of Religion, has been awarded a 2018-19 Jackman Humanities Fellowship. The theme for the 2018-19 awards is Reading Faces — Reading MInds.

Ms Bell’s dissertation “Moved by the Spirit(s): Credibility and Normative Models of Spirit Practices in the First and Second Centuries of the Mediterranean”  focuses on prophecy and other spirit practices in the ancient Mediterranean region approached primarily through embodiment and affect theories.
